Industries we serve

Safety Equipment and Personnel for Utilities

Vaults, manholes, wet wells, substations and treatment structures are permit spaces with a hazardous atmosphere and one way out. That is the exact problem our confined space, gas detection and rescue fleet was built around.

What we bring

The entry, the air and the way out

A utility entry needs four things at once. We rent all four and can staff the fifth.

Atmosphere

Testing before and monitoring during

Personal and area multi-gas monitors covering O2, CO, LEL and H2S, with wired and wireless alarm networks where the space needs continuous coverage.

Air movement

Blowers sized to the opening

Portable electric blowers delivering 1570 CFM free air, 1047 CFM through 25 feet of duct with one 90 degree bend, plus pneumatic jet fans for larger volumes, with flexible flame-resistant ducting. Explosion-proof motor options are available.

Retrieval

Rigged before anyone goes in

Personnel rescue winches with 60, 100 and 250 foot stainless cable, auto-braking and overload protection, mounted on tripod or davit brackets for vertical or horizontal retrieval.

Rescue capability

Beyond retrieval

Sked rescue stretchers, rescue lifelines in 50 and 100 foot lengths, full-body retrieval harnesses, and high-angle rope kits. Our rescue personnel hold NFPA 1006 rope rescue training.

Light and comms

Working below grade

Low-profile LED tank lights, drop lights, and intrinsically safe two-way radios that run on their own frequencies rather than needing a channel plan.

The problems we solve

What utility work needs from us

These are the situations a utility entry turns into when the equipment is not there.

Hydrogen sulfide

The permanent hazard in this sector

H2S collects in wet wells, lift stations and sewer structures, and it defeats the sense of smell at exactly the concentration that matters.

Our answer

Detection and breathing air are the core of our fleet. Area and personal monitors, alarm networks, SCBA and supplied air, and technicians who work sour service every day.

Retrieval

A rescue attempt that creates a second casualty

Most confined space fatalities include a would-be rescuer. Without a winch rigged and an attendant outside, the instinct is to climb in.

Our answer

Winch and tripod rigged before entry, a Sked stretcher to package and move the patient, and an attendant whose only job is the entry.

Energized work

A substation outage with nobody owning the paperwork

Switching, grounding and clearance work runs on documentation, and documentation slips when nobody owns it.

Our answer

Permit-to-work coordinators as a single point of control for the contractor’s scope, and safety professionals running the site program alongside the utility’s own rules.

Night and storm work

Emergency callouts in the dark

A contractor called out when the failure happens rarely starts in daylight, and the lighting has to travel with the crew.

Our answer

Portable LED brick lights, drop lights and tank lights, with rated cords and splitters for the full run.

Why Tiger

The hazards read the same

We do not claim to be a utility contractor. We are the fleet and the people those hazards call for.

Confined space is our core, not a sideline.

Entry, air, retrieval and rescue come from one yard and arrive as a package.

H2S expertise that transfers.

The detection and breathing air we run every day in sour gas service is the same equipment a wet well needs.

Rescue capability, not just retrieval gear.

Standby rescue teams are typically three people, with the equipment configured per project, and our personnel hold NFPA 1006 rope rescue training.

24/7 dispatch.

Call dispatch with the location and the timeline and we will confirm a delivery window for your job.

Safety & QHSE

The Tiger Safety & Reliability Difference

Our GEAUX TIGER SAFETY 6S Program

From the shop floor to your jobsite, our 6S process (Sort, Set-In-Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) ensures equipment is ready, organized, and safe. It reduces downtime, non-productive time (NPT), and HSE risk, and keeps your project on track.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

We do not just rent gear to companies. Tiger field crews help you maximize uptime and data quality on every job.

Fast, Transparent Communication

From quote to logistics to on-site handover, our team provides unfiltered, timely updates, so you always know where your equipment stands.

Frequently asked questions

Does Tiger rent confined space equipment for vaults and manholes?

Yes. Blowers and ducting, multi-gas monitors, tripods and man-rated retrieval winches, harnesses and rescue lifelines, all from the same fleet, so the entry package arrives together.

Can Tiger provide a standby rescue team?

Yes. A standby rescue team is typically three people and the equipment varies from project to project. Our rescue personnel hold NFPA 1006 rope rescue training, and we also run an in-house program.

Are the blowers rated for hazardous locations?

All of our blowers are available in Class I Division 1 or 2 configurations, and every ventilation unit we rent is explosion-proof rated.

Do the radios need programming to our channel plan?

No. Our two-way radios run on their own frequencies, so they arrive ready to use rather than waiting on a programming session.
